'Thank you for your trust, meeting with BAM will be held soon' - Tengku Zafrul

SHAH ALAM - Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz is scheduled to convene a meeting with the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) to discuss his candidature as president of the association and the future direction of the sport.

At the same time, the Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI) Minister expressed his gratitude to BAM for trusting him.

"This matter has just come to my attention, as I just received a message from Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria, the BAM president, congratulating me.

"I would like to thank you for the faith and trust shown by the BAM council for my appointment, and God willing, I will meet with BAM in the near future.

He was met at the Federal Territories Malay Traders and Small Traders Association's 15th Annual Representative Meeting on Saturday.

At the BAM Council meeting earlier, Tengku Zafrul was declared the victor in the race to succeed Mohamad Norza.

It is said that BAM will dig deeper into the situation during the upcoming meeting in December.

Previously, Mohamad Norza shocked everyone by announcing that he would step down as BAM president at the end of this year.
