Jordanian King says Gaza Baptist Hospital massacre a 'heinous war crime'

AMMAN - Jordan’s King Abdullah had expressed his absolute condemnation of the ugly massacre perpetrated by Israel against innocent civilians including injured and sick people who were receiving treatment at the Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza.

King Abdullah said this was a heinous war crime that cannot be ignored, stressing that Israel must end its brutal aggression on Gaza immediately, which contravenes humanitarian and moral values and constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, Jordan news agency (Petra) reported.

His Majesty also warned that this war, which has entered a dangerous phase, will plunge the region into an unspeakable disaster.

He expressed condolences to families of the victims and urged the international community to put a stop to the bloodshed.

The King also reaffirmed that Jordan will remain at the forefront to defend the rights of the Palestinians and their just cause, according to Petra.

Meanwhile, Jordanian Prime Minister, Bisher Khasawneh, announced three days of mourning in the country to honour the victims at the hospital and victims in Gaza who were killed by the brutal Israeli aggression.

Petra reported the Prime Minister in his communique said Jordan’s will the national flag at half-mast at ministries, institutions and public departments for three days. - BERNAMA
