Body of unidentified woman found floating in pool

KEPALA BATAS - The body of an unidentified woman, believed to have died 24 hours ago, was found floating in a pool in Pokok Machang, Tasek Gelugor, near here yesterday.

Seberang Perai Utara police chief ACP Mohd Asri Shafie said the floating body was spotted by a man passing the area at about 6.50pm and contacted the police.

"The man who found the body had initially saw an object floating but upon close scurity, was shocked to a human’s body floating.

"The body was later sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital for post-mortem but police have clasified the case as sudden death pending the outcome of the post-mortem report,” he said in a statement today.

He urged anyone with information about the incident or anyone whose family member is missing, to contact investigating officer ASP Winston Anak Raip at 04- 576 2222 or the nearest police station. - BERNAMA
