SHAH ALAM – Amidst the ongoing conflict in Palestine, the United States and the West have successfully portrayed Palestinians in a negative light, despite a lack of concrete evidence.

According to Asia Middle East Centre for Research and Dialogue (AMEC) director Dr Muslim Imran, Palestinians have been painted in such a way that does not make sense.

"They tried to frame the Palestinians in a very negative context. They start talking about 40 babies being beheaded by the resistance, and not a single photo has been shown to prove this until now,” he said during Sinar Daily's "The Palestinian Diaries" podcast.

What is even more baffling, the United States White House supports this narrative, drawing a parallel between the Palestinian resistance and Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Notably, Muslim said that in Gaza, membership in ISIS was more likely to land individuals in the custody of the Hamas administration, rather than representing a parallel to the Palestinian resistance.

In fact, the narrative constructed by the Israeli side has predominantly focused only on the civilian casualties.

"However, despite the passing of 10-11 days since the war, little concrete evidence has been presented to substantiate these claims.

"Fortunately, the Palestinian fighters have been well-equipped with cameras, from personal device to phone, enabling them to show what truly happened to the world,” he elaborated.

Prior to this, these videos successfully tell the world the ‘hard to be truth’, by showing a clear mission of the Palestinian fighters, whichwas to target Israeli soldiers.

"Their initial attacks were directed at Israeli military sites, resulting in a rapid collapse of the Israeli Army’s defense.

The border had been opened, allowing many individuals to return to their homelands for the first time in 70 years.

Consequently, he said there have been claims of incidents involving civilians. However, the available proof remains insufficient to conclude that the Palestinian fighters deliberately targeted them.

"Now, videos and audios of Israeli settlers being interviewed by Israeli television stations are saying that we were actually shot at by the Israeli military when they saw that Palestinian fighters were not interested in killing civilians but rather capturing soldiers, there has been a lot of material circulating on this,” he said.

Muslim also raised a question, "If the Hamas soldiers were indeed taking captives, why were Israeli soldiers firing upon them, potentially causing casualties among both captors and captives?”

In fact, these such incidents have occurred repeatedly over the past week, with some individuals losing their lives while returning to Gaza or within Israeli settlements.

While the reality of any war is marked by regrettable casualties, it’s crucial to assess the overall civilian toll on both sides, while shedding light on the children’s welfare.
