KUALA LUMPUR - A total of 17,300 mental health screenings have been recorded as of Nov 15, less than a month since the MyMinda module on the MySejahtera application was introduced on Oct 21, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.

Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa said that of the total, 23 per cent or 3,983 of those screened showed risks of depression, while 15 per cent or 2,592 were found to have a risk for anxiety.

"Individuals with these risks have direct access through MyMinda to get counselling,” she said at the question and answer session.

She was replying to a supplementary question from Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad (BN-Parit Sulong) regarding the achievement of the MyMinda module since its implementation.

Replying to Noraini's original question about the operational status and achievement of the National Centre of Excellence for Mental Health (NCEMH), Dr Zaliha said the mental health crisis hotline or Heal Line 15555 had recorded 26,139 calls regarding mental health, thus far.

Dr Zaliha said the number comprised 16,942 callers who received emotional support assistance and 9,197 clients who received specific intervention by counselling psychology officers.
