PSM 'thrilled' Sivakumar dropped as HR minister

SHAH ALAM - Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) welcomes the Cabinet reshuffle, especially Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's decision to drop V Sivakumar as the human resource minister.

In a statement, PSM deputy chairman S Arutchelvan said that the party had a smooth working arrangement with the previous Human Resource ministers except Sivakumar.

"We are especially thrilled that the Human Resource Minister has been replaced.

"We have been able to work with all previous Human Resource Minister except the axed minister (Sivakumar)," he said.

Arutchelvan also lauded Anwar's move to reshuffle the Cabinet, which indicates that the Prime Minister has listened to his critics.

"This definitely indicates that Anwar has listened to his critics.

"The reshuffled Cabinet has a good layer of matured and experienced politicians. We wish him all the best," he said.

Arutchelvan further said that he hoped Anwar would now carry out long overdue reforms, especially since he has a solid two-thirds majority support in the Dewan Rakyat.

DAP's Sivakumar was the only minister dropped by Anwar in his first cabinet reshuffle.

His tenure was marked by a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission probe on the foreign workers recruitment which led to the arrest of three of his aides.

Steven Sim, who is also from DAP has replaced Sivakumar as a Human Resource Minister. Sim previously served as a deputy finance minister.
