PETALING JAYA - The police have discovered several objects that could serve as new leads in the murder case of the late Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the discovery was made during the second round of the door-to-door examination conducted by the police at Block R of Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai, near here, last night.

However, he said analysis and further investigation needed to be carried out on the new evidence that was obtained.

"So far, there has been no positive development in tracking down the murderer of Zayn. We need to analyse these new findings first and continue to gather sufficient evidence," he said, today.

Meanwhile, when asked if the police issued any specific instructions for residents to stay in their blocks during the examination, Hussein said residents were allowed to carry on with their daily routines as usual.

However, he added that if the police conducted inspections and residents were not at home or were outside the area, they would be called for mass deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) screening or group DNA testing.

Yesterday, after a two-hour examination conducted by the police forensics team in each residence of Block R, the team was seen transporting two boxes containing evidence.
