NACS 2024-2028 demands mega-reforms for anti-corruption drive - Rasuah Busters CEO

SHAH ALAM - The National Anti-Corruption Strategies (NACS) 2024–2028 demands a significant reform initiative to eradicate corruption crimes from the country within the next 10 years.
Rasuah Busters Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nurhayati Nordin stressed that the implementation of this strategy must align with the previous framework of the National Anti-Corruption Plan (NACP) 2019–2023.
According to her, this alignment is crucial to ensure the seamless continuation of the latest anti-corruption strategy and achieve the goal of reaching the 25th rung on the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI).
"The five main strategies in NACS are something that we need to carefully examine, who the implementers are, and how they can be perfected efficiently.
"Thus, as we approach a decade later, attention to these aspects is imperative for sustained progress.
"Sometimes when a plan is developed, complete infrastructure or systems need to be improved first before success can be achieved," she told Sinar yesterday.
Norhayati made these remarks in response to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) efforts to unveil NACS 2024–2028 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC).
This new strategy emphasises five main pillars: education, public accountability, people's voice, enforcement, and incentives.
Norhayati also noted that one method of ensuring that the strategy is well received by all parties is to periodically communicate effectively.
