Faisal Halim acid attack case: Police awaiting suspect's fingerprint analysis result

PETALING JAYA - The police are awaiting the results of the fingerprint analysis obtained at the scene of the acid attack incident involving Selangor FC player Faisal Halim, at a shopping centre in Kota Damansara here, today.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said based on checks on the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, it was found that the suspect had touched several places at the scene.

"The fingerprints left behind have been collected and we are still waiting for the results of the analysis.

"If the results obtained later provide positive leads, it will bring the police closer to identifying the latest suspects," he said.

He said this during a press conference after inspecting the scene at a shopping centre in Kota Damansara.

He said investigations were still ongoing on the two suspects arrested.

"As for the two people detained, what I can tell you is that we are still conducting inquiries.

"It is still at the initial stage for me to share any developments related to the said arrests," he said.

In the incident last Sunday, Faisal suffered fourth-degree burns after being attacked with acid by two individuals on motorcycles at a shopping centre in Petaling Jaya.

Police arrested two men separately in Pandan Indah, Ampang and Bangi on Sunday and Monday following the incident.
