KKB by-election: Police, army’s vote leans to PH

Unlike last year's state election, the initial vote favoured the PN candidate with 530 votes compared to PH's 146 votes.

SHAH ALAM - The Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election saw the early votes of the police and the army in favour of Pakatan Harapan (PH) compared to last year's state election.

Based on unofficial results, PH candidate Pang Sock Tao got 592 votes compared to Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Khairul Azhari Saut who got 156 votes.

Unlike last year's state election, the initial vote favoured the PN candidate with 530 votes compared to PH's 146 votes.

The by-election early voting turnout took place on Tuesday reached 97 percent.

The Election Commission secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak confirmed that the percentage comprised 769 early voters consisting of police, military personnel and spouses.

He said the early voting process for the by-election took place in two locations, namely the Kuala Kubu Baharu Royal Malaysian Police College Multi-Purpose Hall and the Erskine Camp Fourth Infantry Division's Slogan Regiment, which started from 8am to 5pm.
