SHAH ALAM - Prolintas Infra Business Trust (KL:Pintas) non-independent, non-executive director Datuk Mohammad Azlan Abdullah has resigned as its trustee-manager, citing personal commitments.
His resignation comes amid recent charges by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) against other Prolintas officials.
In the interim, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Malik Parvez Ahmad Nazir Ahmad has been appointed as a non-executive director and will serve on the risk, nomination and remuneration committee.
A temporary executive management team, led by non-executive chairman Datuk Ikmal Hijaz Hashim, will oversee operations until a new CEO is appointed.
Azlan previously served as the CEO of Prolintas' group of companies.
Meanwhile, the MACC has charged two Prolintas officials—Chief Operating Officer Rostam Shahrif Tami and Project Manager Zairulnizam Rohani—with corruption-related offences involving SUKE highway project contracts. Both have pleaded not guilty.
Prolintas Managers clarified that the individuals charged are not involved in the operations of the business trust.
The MACC has arrested five other officials for alleged bribery related to highway projects.
Prolintas, which holds a 51.02 per cent stake in Prolintas Infra Business Trust, is wholly owned by Permodalan Nasional Bhd.
