Tell expands to Southeast Asia with first Kuala Lumpur branch

KUALA LUMPUR – Leading global sports production company Tell has launched a new branch in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, marking its first regional branch in Southeast Asia.

The company responsible for providing technical services in the sports industry for marketing purposes is headed by Tom Ellis from the United Kingdom, where the first company was built in York there. Ellis, who is also the company director, said that the Kuala Lumpur is an ideal place to spearhead innovative technical production through the company.

Also a broadcast and live graphics specialist, formerly responsible for live broadcast company AE Live, Wong has vast experience with organisations and events uch as Badminton World Federation, Asian Football Confederation and the Professional Triathletes Organisation.

"Location wise, Bukit Jalil is a perfect location for our Kuala Lumpur office due to the facilities and sports activities available such as football, badminton and rugby. Apart from housing a world-class stadium, the Asian Football Confederation is also located in the same locaiton," Wong shared.

Another member of the team is also Azman Azmy who is their senior producer, also formerly responsible for AE Live and Astro.

Azman, with 10 years of experience in sport production, had released a docu-series before, consisting of eight episodes, called "Sampai Mati Kuala Lumpur" which iterates about Kuala Lumpur Football Team winning against Johor Darul Takzim in Piala Malaysia 2021.

The team is looking for more opportunities for the company to expand in South East Asia, alongside consistent strategic announcements including financial growth statistics and a strengthened senior leadership team.

The company's revenue increased from the fiscal year 2020/2021 to 2023/2024 by 86.6 per cent, showing a strong performance and ability to build a strong presence in the global sports production industry.

They have also recently appointed Jack Nicklin as Tell's managing director in the UK, with experience from positions at World Rugby, IMG, Channel 4, BBC, Cricket Australia and BBC Sport.
