IWK launches Ramadan Carnival to boost local businesses and community spirit

In a bid to foster community spirit during Ramadan, Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) Sdn Bhd launched its first-ever Ramadan Carnival at IWK Eco Park, Pantai Dalam, providing a vibrant business platform for small traders.

The initiative aligns with the government's economic framework, which aims to empower local entrepreneurs and strengthen economic resilience.

Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof also visited the event to engage with traders and the community.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, Fadillah, alongside IWK chief executive officer, Narendran Maniam and IWK staff, distributed 500 food bags to local residents as part of the iftar (breaking of fast) meal.

Narendran expressed optimism about the impact of the carnival on small businesses and the local population.

"The Ramadan Carnival at IWK Eco Park not only provides residents with easy access to iftar meals but also offers a well-organised and strategic business platform for small traders at an affordable rate," he said.

The carnival features a variety of traditional and contemporary food offerings, making it a great choice for iftar.

Beyond food, visitors can also enjoy live entertainment from "Street Buskers” performances, enhancing the festive mood.

Situated just 10 kilometres from the heart of Kuala Lumpur, IWK Eco Park offers a convenient and accessible venue for visitors from both Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

The spacious covered parking area, along with ample parking spots, ensures a seamless and stress-free experience for guests attending the ongoing event.

Having kicked off on the first day or Ramadan, the carnival will run until March 29.
