SHAH ALAM - DarSA Fried Chicken (DFC) apologises has once again apologised for the mistake in the Maghrib azan (call to prayer), which led customers at its Puncak Alam branch to break their fast three minutes earlier on March 17.
In a statement, the management of DFC Puncak Alam said that on that day, the Maghrib azan was broadcast at 7.26pm, whereas the actual breaking fast time for the Kuala Selangor area, according to the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim), was 7.29pm.
According to the statement, this mistake caused customers to break their fast earlier than they should have and the company has urged those affected to make up for their missed fast.
"We take full responsibility for this mistake and deeply appreciate the awareness and concern of customers who brought this matter to our attention.
"Therefore, we advise customers to make up (qada') their fast in accordance with Islamic rulings. We have also taken corrective measures to ensure that this does not happen again, including reviewing and synchronising the azan timing with the official prayer schedule.
"We value your trust in DFC Puncak Alam and are committed to providing the best experience for all customers. We deeply regret any inconvenience caused and thank you for your support," the statement read on Thursday.
Previously, customers of DFC Puncak Alam expressed their disappointment on social media after unintentionally breaking their fast earlier than the supposed time.
