JENIN - Israeli occupation forces continued their onslaught on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp for the 97th consecutive day, carrying out widespread home demolitions, setting houses on fire, and turning others into military outposts, the Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA) reported.

Bashir Matahen, Director of Public Relations at the Jenin Municipality, told WAFA that Israeli forces on Sunday (April 27) forced 20 families to evacuate their homes in the Al-Zahraa neighbourhood, near the camp, and converted the homes into military outposts.

He added that Israeli bulldozers continue demolition operations inside the camp under a total media blackout.

So far, approximately 600 homes have been completely demolished, while the remaining houses in the camp have suffered partial destruction, rendering them uninhabitable.

The camp is now encircled by four metal gates and earth mounds, effectively sealing it off as a closed military zone where entry and exit are prohibited.
