SHAH ALAM – Datuk Seri R. Ramanan's political career has advanced rapidly, starting with his win of the Sungai Buloh parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election (GE15) and culminating in his securing the position of Vice President of PKR for the 2025–2028 term.

Former Umno Youth Chief, Khairy Jamaluddin, humorously stated that he and former PKR Vice President and Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad share a common experience: both lost to Ramanan.

The former Health Minister stated that anything is possible in politics, where one can ascend quickly and similarly descend.

"The possibility of Ramanan climbing all the way to become PKR President, I won’t comment on that because it’s someone else’s party. But perhaps he has gone through a phase where his rise was rather swift, winning in Sungai Buloh and defeating me.

"Then he recently won the PKR Vice President post. I even sent a message to Nik Nazmi, and he replied, ‘we have something in common – both defeated by Ramanan.’

"There are times when we rise quickly and fall just as fast. It all depends on how we manage success," he said.
