MELAKA – What began as a loving Mother’s Day message turned into a heartbreaking tragedy after a dedicated teacher and single mother was found murdered alongside her eldest son in Taman Rambai Mutiara, Bukit Rambai.
Just days before her death, the 51-year-old teacher posted an emotional Facebook message on May 11, expressing her hopes for her children’s future."Even though I can’t celebrate it this year, I’m very happy because this is the first time I’ve received a short video made for me. Mum hopes all my children will be obedient, grow up healthy and happy, and become useful individuals! Love to all,” she wrote.
In that same post, she shared a one-minute and 15-second video produced by her 21-year-old son, who tragically also fell victim to the brutal murder.
The video featured touching memories through 25 photos of their family over the past 16 years, including moments with her husband who passed away in early January.
The mother of three sons also shared photos of accolades she had received, such as the Excellent Service Award from the Ministry of Education Malaysia on April 25, 2019 and an Excellent Service Award from the Seremban District Education Office on June 22, 2009, along with photos of her memories at work and with other family members.
On Thursday, Sinar reported that a teacher and her 21-year-old eldest son were believed to have been murdered in a shocking and tragic incident.
The mother and son were found in the living room of their home, while her youngest son, aged 13, was found covered in blood outside the single-storey terrace house.
Melaka police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar has since stated that study pressure and frequent scoldings were believed to be the triggers that led the suspect, who is also the victim’s son, to stab his mother and older brother to death.
In the incident that occurred around 5am, the suspect reportedly entered his mother’s bedroom and attacked her before stabbing her with a folding knife.
According to the police, the eldest son, who realised what was happening, tried to intervene but was also fatally stabbed by the suspect.
Another son, aged 13, was also stabbed and sustained serious injuries.
He is reported to be in stable condition and currently receiving treatment at Melaka Hospital.
