Previously, it was reported that Iskandar Puteri district police chief Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan said the woman’s body was found after her neighbour detected a foul smell and lodged a report at the Nusa Bestari police station at 8pm last Thursday.

He said investigations found that the woman, who lived alone, was believed to have died approximately a month prior.

"A post-mortem conducted by forensic experts at Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Bahru found the cause of death to be unascertained due to advanced decomposition," he said.

Commenting further, Aznan said the teacher who was single had been living alone, a fact confirmed by the school after conducting investigations along with nearby neighbours.
