The fatal accident occurred on the East-West Highway near Tasik Banding, Gerik in Perak.

PUTRAJAYA – Investigators have revealed that the tour bus involved in the tragic crash that killed 15 Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) students in June was travelling at a speed of 117.6 km/h, nearly twice the posted speed limit of 60 km/h.

These findings were detailed in the Preliminary Road Transport Safety Investigation Report by the Special Task Force under the Transport Ministry.

According to technical analysis, the critical speed at which the bus could have rolled over was between 111.3 and 114.5 km/h.

The vehicle’s speed at the time of the crash exceeded this threshold.
