Rafizi, Nik Nazmi moved to Block D in Parliament

KUALA LUMPUR - Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, who recently stepped down from their ministerial roles following losses in the 2025 Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) party elections, have now been moved to Block D in the Dewan Rakyat.

According to the Parliament of Malaysia's official website, Block D is specifically reserved for the government’s second echelon or emerging leadership bench.

Rafizi, the former Economy minister and Pandan Member of Parliament (MP), is now seated in the third row next to Batu Kawan MP, Chow Kon Yeow.

Meanwhile, Nik Nazmi, the former Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability minister and Setiawangsa MP, shares the same row with Batu Gajah MP, V Sivakumar and Bukit Gelugor MP, Ramkarpal Singh.

Block D is also home to several prominent political figures, including former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (Bera MP), former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (Bandar Tun Razak MP), former finance minister Lim Guan Eng (Bagan MP) and Parti Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal (Semporna MP).

Previously, Rafizi was placed in the front row of Block B, sitting alongside Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who occupied Block A.

In the Dewan Rakyat, seating is arranged with Blocks A and B reserved for ministers and deputy ministers in the Unity Government, Block C for government MPs, Block E for Perikatan Nasional (PN) and other MPs, while Blocks F and G are allocated to PN MPs.

Rafizi officially resigned from his Cabinet post on June 17, followed by Nik Nazmi on July 4.

Rafizi failed to defend his position as PKR Deputy President, losing to Nurul Izzah Anwar. Nik Nazmi was also unsuccessful in his bid for a Vice President post.
