On her final flight from Sydney to Kuala Lumpur, Zuhaimi made her last ‘walk of honour’, with Delilah by her side.

KUALA LUMPUR – Emotions ran high as Malaysia Airlines Leading Stewardess (LSS) or chief flight attendant, Zuhaimi Hashim ended her remarkable 40-year career with a farewell unlike any other.

She celebrated in the skies alongside her daughter, Delilah Zainal.

On her final flight from Sydney to Kuala Lumpur, Zuhaimi made her ‘walk of honour’, with Delilah by her side.

Three days ago, Delilah had shared a TikTok video capturing the special in-flight tribute.

In the clip, she crowned her mother with a tiara reading “retired” and draped her with a sash that read “officially retired”, showing a loving gesture to honour years of dedication.

As Zuhaimi walked through the aircraft aisle for the last time, she struggled to hold back tears.

Passengers applauded warmly, while many recorded the poignant moment on their phones.

“Congratulations on your retirement, mum. After so many years of hard work, dedication and sacrifices for the job, you finally have time to rest, enjoy life and focus on yourself.

“I am so proud of all your achievements — not just in your career but also in raising our family with so much love.

“May this new chapter be filled with good health, boundless happiness and the adventures you have always dreamed of,” she shared.

The celebrations didn’t end in the air.

The following evening, Zuhaimi arrived at Terminal 1, KLIA, from her final Phuket-Kuala Lumpur flight to find her family waiting with open arms.

They greeted her with another tiara, a bouquet of flowers and a sash reading “Selamat Bersara! LSS Zuhaimi Hashim”.

Social media users, including fellow airline crew, were deeply moved by the touching farewell.

Many praised Zuhaimi’s youthful appearance, noting she looked far younger than her age.

“I thought she was 40, turns out she’s retiring after long service for 40 years! Wow,” wrote Kaytinnie.

“40 years of service and now you can have fun with children and grandchildren. Happy retirement Kak Zu,” said Sis Ojet.

“Alhamdulillah retiring in good health. Maintain,” shared zaharidazahari.

“Even at 60 she looks fit and healthy,” commented ApplemintGummy.

“One of the best chief flight attendants I have ever flown with. Alhamdulillah, I had the chance to fly together for a trip to Auckland a few months ago. Wishing the best for Kak Zu!” wrote Megat Farezi.
