SD Guthrie announces Mohd Haris as new Deputy Group Managing Director

Mohd Haris has been with the Group since 2014 and most recently served as Group Chief Operating Officer.

SD Guthrie Berhad has announced the appointment of Mohd Haris Mohd Arshad as its new Deputy Group Managing Director, effective Sept 1, 2025.

Mohd Haris, 53, has been with the Group since 2014 and most recently served as Group Chief Operating Officer.

His journey with the Group began as Head of the Downstream Manufacturing unit before he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Downstream segment in 2017.

Over the years, he has held key roles, including being the first Managing Director of Sime Darby Oils when it was formed in 2019.

He played a central role in driving growth, improving profits and introducing sustainability, digitalisation and operational excellence initiatives across the business.

He also chairs the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) Board and the Palm Oil Refiners Association of Malaysia (PORAM, and sits on the Board of Trustees of the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC).

Before joining Guthrie, Mohd Haris held senior positions in trading, marketing and commodity management with Cargill, Nestlé and Unilever.

He holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona, United States, and completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.

His appointment marks an important step for SD Guthrie as it continues to strengthen its leadership and focus on sustainable growth.
