SHAH ALAM - The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), in partnership with the High Commission of Pakistan in Kuala Lumpur, successfully hosted the Pakistan-Malaysia Business Opportunities Conference in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.

The event gathered prominent business leaders, investors and chamber representatives from both countries, reaffirming their shared commitment to boost bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

In his address, the High Commission of Pakistan to Malaysia Chargé d’Affaires highlighted Pakistan’s strong investment credentials and ongoing government reforms designed to attract foreign investors.

He praised ICCI for taking the initiative to connect the private sectors of both nations and extended gratitude to the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad for its collaboration.

Special recognition was also given to Malaysia’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Datuk Mohammed Azhar Mazlan, for his presence and dedication to strengthening ties.

Pakistan was presented as a gateway for regional connectivity, emphasising its strategic location, a market of 240 million people and emerging opportunities in agriculture, food processing, textiles, mining, IT, renewable energy, infrastructure and the halal industry.

At the same time, Malaysia’s role as a regional hub for Islamic finance, technology and manufacturing was highlighted, encouraging Pakistani businesses to leverage Malaysia’s access to Asean and Asia-Pacific markets.

Azhar, in his remarks, reiterated Malaysia’s strong interest in expanding trade and investment with Pakistan.

He stressed the importance of deeper connectivity, closer collaboration between business communities and exploring untapped areas of economic partnership.

"B2B meetings held alongside the conference facilitated direct interactions between companies, laying the groundwork for future trade and joint ventures.

"The day concluded with an awards ceremony organised by the ICCI to honor top-performing Pakistani businesses, celebrating their achievements and contributions to economic growth," he said in a statement.
