SHAH ALAM - Adult responsibilities often include bills, errands and summonses — but this Merdeka season, motorists can settle their traffic summonses at a 50 per cent discount directly through their mobile phones.
No queues, just a few taps on the MyBayar PDRM app using the MyDigital ID.
From Aug 31 to Sept 16, summonses can be slashed in half if paid via the MyBayar PDRM app, logged in with the MyDigital ID.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the discount is a symbol of appreciation from the government to Malaysians, aside from encouraging the use of national identity as a foundation for the digital transformation of public services.
The move is also meant to encourage wider adoption of the MyDigital ID offering safer logins, less risk of scams and a smoother way to manage official matters.
Here’s how to lock in the discount:
1. Download MyDigital ID and complete verification.
2. Get the MyBayar PDRM app.
3. Log in via “Sign in with MyDigital ID” (not the regular login).
4. Check your summonses and pay — now at 50 per cent off.
Enjoy the relief of being lighter on both wallet and conscience. So, if you have been putting off that ticket, now’s the time.
