SHAH ALAM - The wife of Selangor winger Faisal Halim, Nur Syazwani Mizuana Shahril, is believed to have filed for divorce from the national player earlier today.
According to reports from a local news portal, the case was mentioned before Syarie Judge Mohd Hairuddin Ab Rahim at the Klang Lower Syariah Court in Selangor.
Nur Syazwani also stated that the decision made today was not an easy one, but it had to be made after various efforts to save her marriage failed.
"My actions today are based on what I have experienced and my own life. I know my life better than anyone else.
"I have sacrificed my whole heart for my family, from struggling to success, from being unknown to being adored, from sickness to health and back to being at my best. It hasn’t been easy for me. In fact, this isn’t the first time; I’ve been divorced before," she said.
She added that there had been too much interference and challenges in their marriage, which forced her to accept the decision made.
"I tried to defend it, but there was too much interference and turmoil in my life. My decision today was not an easy one to make.
"I have made the effort, but perhaps this is the best path. My mother was asked to take me, and I was returned to her. Though it was hard, I followed her wishes," she said.
Faisal, who has been married to Syazwani for six years since March 9, 2019, shares a son, Khalish Aryan, with her.
At 27, the winger, nicknamed Mickey, has made 39 appearances for Selangor and earned 32 caps with the national team.
