Roses are red, violets are blue, looks like the wedding rumours were true!
Celebrity couple Fattah Amin and Amira Othman, often described as the "lovebirds" of the local entertainment scene, have confirmed they will be tying the knot this Sunday, Sept 14.
The couple, whose relationship has long captured public interest and sparked speculation online, made the announcement during a press conference for the launch of Rasa & Takdir, a new duet by Amira and her brother, Irfan Haris.
The event took place at Hotel Imperial Lexis in Kuala Lumpur.
Fattah, whose full name is Abdul Fattah Mohd Amin, surprised the media and guests by announcing their upcoming wedding, effectively putting months of rumours about their relationship to rest.
“We started out as colleagues and after some time getting to know each other, God willing, we’ve decided to take our relationship to the next level. Our wedding ceremony will be held on Sept 14, just about a week from now,” he said.
At the end of the performance, Irfan handed over a symbolic key to Fattah, who then took the microphone to make the formal announcement.
After expressing his intention, Fattah passed the key to Amira as a symbolic gesture of their new union.
The couple will be married at a hotel in Johor Bahru on Sept 14, which also marks Fattah’s 36th birthday.
For the record, Fattah was previously married to actress Nur Fazura Sharifuddin on Nov 27, 2017. The pair officially divorced on Oct 7 last year.
They have a daughter together, Nur Fatima Aisya, who is now four years old.
