Malaysian comedian Nigel Ng, the internet personality known as Uncle Roger, is officially off the market.
The 34-year-old stand-up comedian recently married lawyer Sabrina Ahmed in a three-day celebration in Sintra, Portugal.
Over 70 friends and family members attended the weekend festivities, which included a sunset cruise, a sangeet (a pre-wedding Indian party), a Chinese tea ceremony and a Western reception.
The couple wore four different outfits, with each look honouring their heritage, from elegant Western wear to traditional Chinese and Bengali attire.
Sabrina also wore a saree that belonged to her mother from 1987.
So, who was the woman who captured Uncle Roger’s heart?
Sabrina is a corporate lawyer with Bangladeshi-Arab heritage, who was born in Miami and previously worked for a luxury resort developer.
The two first met in 2022 when Nigel performed at an event for Sabrina’s company.
They later matched on a dating app and Nigel invited her to Boston for a proper meet-cute.
By March 2023, Nigel knew she was the one, and he proposed a year later under cherry blossoms in Tokyo.
Of course, the internet had questions, with many wondering if Nigel had converted to Islam since some fans assumed Sabrina was Malay.
For now, the answer is simple: there has been no official statement from either of them on the matter.
Sabrina's heritage is Bangladeshi and Arab and while social media loves a rumour, the couple has chosen to keep that part of their lives private.
