SHAH ALAM – The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah announced the forthcoming marriage of his son, the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah.
In a statement issued by the Selangor Sultan’s private secretary, Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani, it was revealed that Tengku Amir Shah would wed Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz in a royal ceremony steeped in tradition and blessings.
“His Royal Highness the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, will solemnise his marriage with Afzaa Fadini Datuk Abdul Aziz on Thursday, Oct 2 corresponding to 10 Rabi’ul Akhir 1447H," the statement read.
The marriage ceremony was scheduled for Oct 2 at the Masjid Istana Diraja within Istana Alam Shah, Klang.
The Royal Wedding Ceremony and the Royal Banquet would follow on Oct 22, to be held at the Balairung Seri and Balai Santapan Diraja of the same palace, promising a celebration rich in heritage and pageantry.
In honour of this auspicious occasion, the Selangor Islamic Religious Department would hold a state-wide Yasin recitation and doa selamat on Sept 25 at mosques across Selangor, seeking Allah’s blessings for the smooth running of the marriage and subsequent festivities.
On the same evening, Sultan Sharafuddin and the Raja Muda would attend the Doa Selamat gathering at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, the state mosque in Shah Alam, reflecting the royal family’s deep ties to faith and community.
The forthcoming union was set to mark a significant chapter for the Selangor royal household, combining time-honoured customs with the warm wishes of the people of the state.
