Earlier, the Prime Minister issued a stern warning to Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing and Motac that the serving of alcohol at an official event must never be repeated, stressing that the government's policy clearly prohibits the serving of alcohol at official events regardless of whether the event is deemed to have "ended”.

The controversy stemmed from the Global Travel Meet dinner, where multiple photos from the event, showing the minister and guests holding glasses of wine and beer, went viral, sparking criticism over perceived disregard for official protocol and public sensitivities. - BERNAMA
