JOHOR BAHRU - An insurance agent driving a Mini Cooper crashed into five cars after she mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal at Jalan Kuning, Taman Pelangi, here this morning.
Johor Bahru South police chief ACP Raub Selamat said from early investigations, the accident occurred at 9.14am when the 49-year-old woman was driving from Jalan Pingai and wanted to enter the Jalan Kuning intersection.
"However, when she was about to reach the intersection, the woman mistakenly pressed the gas pedal (instead of the brakes), causing it to skid and crash into the five cars parked in front of shop lots," he said in a statement.
No injuries were reported and the woman tested negative for alcohol, he said.
The case is being investigated under Road Transport Regulations 10 (1) LN 166/59.
Earlier, a one-minute video went viral on social media showing several damaged cars with the Mini Cooper mounted on top of another vehicle. - BERNAMA
