SHAH ALAM - Former PKR Deputy President Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli has signalled that he may never return to the party’s leadership, suggesting it is time for him and PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to part ways.

In a Facebook post today, Rafizi said it was better for both of them to move forward separately, adding that he will continue to share his views on party and political matters regardless of how others react.

“I just hope that PKR and its current leadership will stop overreacting and jumping every time I give my views. The decision was already made by PKR and many of the leaders currently in place were complicit in that decision.

“‘Apabila nasi sudah jadi bubur’ it is immature to expect me to swallow it whole just as they wish,” he wrote.

The Pandan MP also dismissed claims that he had ambitions to challenge the Prime Minister, describing such allegations as a recycled narrative.

He said earlier efforts were made to incite Pakatan Harapan (PH) supporters and the public by accusing him of neglecting the grassroots.

“When I made it clear that if taking care of the grassroots means handing out money, then say whatever you want, I will not get involved. Then, the narrative shifted to me sulking, used as an excuse for PKR Deputy President Nurul Izzah Anwar to challenge me.

“When I resigned and willingly vacated my comfortable government post, even after being offered an appointed deputy president position, that version of the story died there,” he added.

Rafizi said his current focus is to push for a political future that is cleaner and free from corruption.

“Insyallah, I will carry out that duty as best as I can. Beyond that, it is better for PKR, Anwar and myself to go our separate ways. I don’t see a path that would bring me back into PKR’s leadership in the future,” he said.
