SHAH ALAM – Construction and property development firm MGB Berhad (MGB) has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, MGB Construction & Engineering Sdn Bhd, has secured a Letter of Award (LOA) from UDA Accord Development Sdn Bhd to carry out the Residensi Wilayah Phase 2 housing project at Jalan Jubilee in Kuala Lumpur.
MGB Group Executive Chairman Tan Sri Ir Dr Lim Hock San said the company is honoured to contribute to the government’s initiative to deliver affordable housing for Malaysians through this significant development.
“We are proud to be part of this meaningful project, contributing to housing development in the Federal Territory through the Residensi Wilayah initiative to address home ownership affordability in the area.
“In this regard, we share the same mission and values as UDA Accord Development; a dedication to delivering high-quality affordable homes that meet people’s needs, foster inclusive communities and support the goals of progressive urban development,” he said in a statement.
The RM118.5 million contract involves structural works for a 45-storey residential block comprising 702 units, a seven-storey car park podium, a facilities level and a guardhouse.
Construction is expected to begin in November 2025 and be completed within 30 months by May 2028.
MGB said the latest contract from UDA Accord Development further strengthens the group’s position as a trusted strategic construction partner and reflects its solid track record in delivering private residential development projects that emphasise quality, efficiency and reliability.
The new contract also raises MGB’s outstanding order book value to approximately RM1.25 billion, ensuring continuity of project workflow for the group in the coming years.
The Residensi Wilayah programme, formerly known as Rumah Wilayah Persekutuan (RUMAWIP) was introduced by the federal government in 2013 to provide affordable, high-quality homes for middle-income groups in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.
UDA Accord Development is a joint venture company associated with UDA Holdings Berhad, which is fully owned by the government through the Minister of Finance (Incorporated).
UDA Holdings is known for its commitment to sustainable urban development and the implementation of affordable housing projects nationwide.
