KUALA LUMPUR - Sinar Daily's Smartlympics brought an electrifying mix of intellect, speed and wit to KLGCC Mall today, as contestants went head-to-head in a live trivia showdown that kept both participants and spectators on edge.
The high-energy competition featured ten contestants who faced off in rapid one-on-one duels, each lasting 40 seconds per round.
Participants raced against time to answer as many questions as possible, progressing through four major stages from the opening rounds to the semi-finals, before culminating in the grand finale.
Unlike conventional quizzes with written responses, Smartlympics adopted an interactive, fast-paced format that kept the atmosphere lively and unpredictable.
Emerging as champion was Mohamad Ishak Mohd Aman, who clinched the top spot and took home a RM300 cash prize.
Celine Chan Maey Shan secured second place with and won RM200 in cash, while Hasrul Andry Abdul Rahman finished third, winning RM100.
A special MVP (Most Valuable Player) Award was presented to Muhammad Naim Muhamad Ali, who answered the highest number of questions correctly across multiple rounds, demonstrating both accuracy and consistency under pressure.
The event delivered an afternoon filled with laughter, excitement and camaraderie, as Malaysia’s brightest minds battled it out in a spirited test of intelligence. The lively crowd added to the thrill, cheering passionately for their favourite contestants and creating a vibrant, competitive atmosphere.
Smartlympics concluded on a high note, living up to its promise of being “smart, fun and unforgettable,” while offering contestants a platform to showcase their quick-thinking skills live on stage.
The event was organised in collaboration with Sime Darby Property.
The first edition of Smartlympics took place on July 27 at MQT Studio, Karangkraf, Shah Alam featuring 15 participants in an equally intense showdown that rewarded the sharpest minds with cash prizes and other gifts.
