UNOFFICIAL: Shafie Apdal retains Senallang seat

According to unofficial results as of 7.45 pm, he defeated three other challengers.

KOTA KINABALU - Parti Warisan (Warisan) President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal retains the Senallang seat in the Sabah State Election today.

According to unofficial results as of 7.45 pm, he defeated three other challengers: Datuk Marunda KK Ampong, 66, from Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), Mohd Lipai @ Samsu Sundalu, 56, representing Parti Impian Sabah (PIS); and Abdul Majid Angkulan from Parti Bersatu Sasa Malaysia (BERSAMA).

In the last 16th State Election, Shafie garnered 6,363 votes with a majority of 4,631 in a five-cornered fight.

Meanwhile, during his first term, he secured 7,754 votes in a two-cornered contest, recording a comfortable majority of 5,301 votes.

In addition, another Warisan candidate Jamil Hamzah also recorded a victory in the Bugaya state seat.

Unofficial results also show Thien Ching Qiang from Warisan winning the Tanjong Papat state seat.
