'BN ready to broker deal': Zahid expresses readiness to cooperate to form stable Sabah government

KOTA KINABALU – Barisan Nasional (BN) has expressed its readiness to cooperate with like-minded parties in forming the next Sabah government.

BN Chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi extended his highest appreciation to all voters who placed their trust in BN candidates during the 17th Sabah State Election.

He said the coalition respects and accepts the election results, which saw a total of 596 candidates contesting, a reflection of the strong democratic spirit in the state.

“This result proves that Barisan Nasional still has a solid support base and continues to be an important political bloc within Sabah’s political landscape.

“As a party that consistently prioritises political stability and the well-being of the people, BN is prepared to work with parties that share similar principles to form a new government that ensures stability for Sabah.

“BN urges all Sabahans to maintain peace, unity, and respect for the ongoing democratic process,” he said in a statement on Saturday night.

Zahid added that Sabah’s future progress requires commitment from all sides, and affirmed that BN will continue to play a constructive role in ensuring the state moves towards development and prosperity.
