He referenced an analysis from a political expert: “A Professor of ASEAN Studies at the International Islamic University of Malaysia, Dr Phar Kim Beng, framed it perfectly: the results made one simple truth clear: Sabah is not rejecting Malaysia. Sabah is reinforcing how Malaysia should work.”

At the same time, Aidi Amin said the strong performance of Warisan reflects a political awakening by voters in Sabah.

“The Sabah State Assembly will have a strong and balanced presence to keep Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor’s line-up accountable. Sabahans voted for good governance,” he said.

He added that, having lived through political instability caused by reckless politicians, this election is a fresh mandate for Hajiji to give Sabahans what they need.

“Sabahans reject campaigns that appear designed solely for election season. How often do these Peninsular-based politicians visit Sabah to understand the living condition and frustration better?” he asked.

He stated that local candidates did not reject help entirely but remained wary of the sincerity shown by political guests during the election season.

“The outcome in Sabah is not an outright rejection of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, but a reconsideration of working dynamics as equal partners under the Madani government,” he added.
