Taiping Police chief ACP Mohamad Nasir Ismail said the police were alerted to the incident via NG MERS 999 at 10.30am. 

IPOH - Two men were injured after a microlight aircraft they were flying made an emergency landing in an open area near Tekah Airport, Taiping, yesterday.

"The 46-year-old pilot and the 40-year-old trainee were taken to the Taiping Hospital for treatment. They are reported to be in stable condition.

"It was found that the aircraft made an emergency landing due to an engine malfunction,” he said in a statement today.

He said police would continue to monitor the situation and channel information to the relevant agencies to ensure that risk-control measures are implemented and the safety of nearby residents is safeguarded. - BERNAMA
