SHAH ALAM – Pertubuhan Hati Suci, in collaboration with Kumpulan Media Karangkraf, has launched the ‘Iftar 4 Gaza’ campaign, aiming to raise RM2 million to provide food assistance to residents of Gaza throughout the coming Ramadan.
The campaign invites public donations starting from RM1, with organisers assuring that all aid would be delivered through air drops to overcome land access restrictions and ensure swift and transparent distribution.
"Our side has been in contact with representatives of the Malaysian Embassy in Jordan and has sent food through Jordan via air drop.
"All essential items are purchased there and we have also identified suppliers,” said its president Mohammad Zaidi Zainuddin.
He added that operational groundwork had been conducted prior to the launch.
"Before launching the programme, we carried out fieldwork on how the operations and logistics would be conducted.
"Therefore, we seek the blessings of all parties to pray that this project will be made easy and blessed by Allah SWT," he said.
Zaidi noted that several countries have already adopted the air drop method to deliver aid.
“Other countries such as Jordan, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, France and others have extended aid using the air drop method, only Malaysia has not officially done so yet,” he said.
Speaking at the campaign launch at Karangkraf Media Group headquarters, here, he addressed concerns over credibility, stressing that Pertubuhan Hati Suci is a registered non-governmental organisation (NGO) accredited by the Selangor Zakat Board.
“We are an organisation that manages zakat funds in Selangor. Therefore, I want to stress that the donation fund has been opened since yesterday (Rejab 1) until the end of Syawal next year,” he added.
He assured donors of full transparency and 100 per cent reached the target group.
"After the aid distribution is completed, we will close the bank account opened solely for the ‘Iftar 4 Gaza’ campaign, conduct an audit and present a financial report along with the total amount collected in a media statement later.
"This is our guarantee of transparency in managing the project and ensuring that 100 per cent of the aid reaches the target group.
"Therefore, I invite all Muslims, especially Malaysians, to contribute funds together,” he added.
Donations are open until Syawal 29, 1447H, corresponding to April 28, 2026 and can be made to the designated Maybank account 5624 7823 2717 (Pertubuhan Hati Suci), while further enquiries can be directed to iftar4gaza1447h@gmail.com.
The initiative comes as humanitarian conditions in Gaza remain critical, with 1.6 million residents still facing food insecurity despite the United Nations reporting that the famine crisis declared last August has subsided.
