IPOH – Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu has announced his resignation as Perak Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chairman, effective Jan 1, 2026.
In a statement, the former Perak Menteri Besar said the decision was made following Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s move to step down as the coalition chairman.
He said the decision was also made in respect of the chairman’s prerogative in matters concerning party leadership appointments.
“Respecting that the power of appointment is the prerogative of the chairman, I hereby inform of my resignation as Perak PN chairman,” he said.
Faizal also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all leaders and members of PN’s component parties in Perak for the cooperation, support and trust extended to him throughout his tenure.
