SEREMBAN – As a sign of solidarity with Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s decision to step down as Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman, PN Negeri Sembilan information chief Nazree Yunus has also resigned.
In a Facebook post, Nazree said his resignation takes effect from Jan 1.
“This decision is in line with that of PN Negeri Sembilan chairman Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker, who announced his resignation yesterday and is also a show of solidarity with Tan Sri Muhyiddin, who is also the president of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
“Partisan politics is merely a platform for service and a space to do good deeds.
“Therefore, service to the ummah and society can be carried out in any form and in any field, whether one holds a position or not,” he said.
Nazree, who is also the Negeri Sembilan Bersatu information chief, said the party remains committed to advancing agendas that serve the people’s interests.
He added that politics should also be a platform for knowledge and brotherhood, and a demonstration of leadership’s ability to embrace diversity in race, religion and culture in the country’s plural society, while shaping balanced and fair efforts in educational, economic and social development for all.
“The people of Negeri Sembilan have great potential to secure better leadership and a better state government in the future, based on their wisdom and prudence.
“Thank you to everyone who has given their cooperation and support throughout my tenure in carrying out this trust,” he said.
