SHAH ALAM – Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has declined the position of Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman, despite his name being nominated to replace Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who has resigned.

Instead, Sanusi proposed Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar as a more suitable candidate to lead the coalition.

Earlier, Muhyiddin, who is also Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president announced his resignation as PN chairman with effect from Thursday, following a political crisis in Perlis.
