JOHOR BAHRU - A dog that suddenly crossed the road is believed to have caused an accident involving three cars, a motorcycle and a house along Jalan Permas 1, Permas Jaya, on Monday afternoon.
Johor Bahru South district police chief Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said the incident occurred at about 4.10pm and involved a local man working as an e-hailing driver.
He said the 26-year-old, who was driving a Honda City from Pasir Gudang towards Taman Bukit, lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid the dog.
“The vehicle veered into the opposite lane before colliding with a motorcycle, a house and three cars parked in front of the house,” he said in a statement.
Raub said the car driver escaped unhurt, while the motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and was taken to Hospital Sultan Ismail for further treatment.
The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“Members of the public who witnessed the incident are urged to assist in the investigation by contacting the Traffic Division of the Johor Bahru South District Police Headquarters or the investigating officer, Inspector Hafiz Jaafar, at 017-591 9208,” he said.
Earlier, videos and photos of the scene went viral on social media, showing three cars sustaining severe damage. The front portion of the house involved was also damaged, with members of the public seen gathering at the location.
