SHAH ALAM - Videos allegedly showing children being mistreated at a childcare centre, here, have gone viral on social media, prompting public concern and calls for an investigation by authorities.

The allegations involved a child believed to be on the autism spectrum who was allegedly confined in a storage room and a baby who was seen crying while being forced to drink milk.

The case was exposed by social media influencer Ariz Ramli, better known as Caprice, who shared the footage of the alleged incident on Instagram via his "Munafik Hunter" platform.

According to Caprice, the videos were sent by an individual who claimed to be a trainee at the childcare centre. The trainee, who chose to remain anonymous, said troubling behaviour was noticed within just two days of starting the placement.

One of the videos, lasting about 44 seconds, captured the sound of a child crying hysterically from inside what appeared to be a storage room.

Caprice questioned how a child with autism could allegedly be stripped and locked inside such a confined space.

In another video shared later, a baby was seen crying uncontrollably while being forced to drink milk. The footage was believed to have been recorded at another branch linked to the same childcare operator, here.

The trainee reportedly decided not to continue the placement, saying the alleged abuse towards the children was too distressing to witness.

Caprice tagged several authorities and leaders in his posts, including the police, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry, urging immediate investigation.

The incident has also renewed concerns about staff training, supervision and accountability in early childhood education facilities.

As of now, there has been no official statement from enforcement agencies regarding whether an investigation has begun or if any action has been taken.

Sinar Daily has contacted the childcare centre involved to seek clarification and comment on the allegations but has yet to receive a response at the time of writing.
