SHAH ALAM – In a rare intersection of personal and professional worlds, the families of two prominent Malaysian political figures were united through marriage this week.
The union connected former Umno Vice President Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and Bersatu Secretary-General Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, turning long-standing acquaintances into relatives.
The festive ceremony saw Hishammuddin’s niece, Sabrina, exchange vows with Azmin’s son, Yusuf, bringing together two influential political lineages.
Sharing the joy of the occasion on his official Instagram account today, Hishammuddin, the former Defence Minister, celebrated the merging of the two families.
“A beautiful evening with siblings, relatives and friends.
“Together, we witnessed the special moment of my niece, Sabrina, exchanging vows with her chosen partner, Yusuf,” he wrote on his official social media account.
He further extended his congratulations to both sets of parents.
“Congratulations to my sibling, Datuk Haris Onn Hussein and Datin Shazlin and their new in-laws, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and Datin Seri Shamshida Taharin. May this bond bring Sabrina and Yusuf love, happiness and countless blessings,” the caption added.
Azmin and Hishammuddin have been colleagues in the political arena for decades, having served together in various capacities within the Federal Government.
