If you’re looking for a reason to soak up Chinese New Year vibes this season, Pavilion Bukit Jalil is going all out.
From now until Feb 24, the mall is welcoming the Year of the Horse with "Joyful Prosperity Together, Here", a month-long celebration filled with culture, colour and family-friendly experiences.
Rooted in reunion, blessings and new beginnings, the celebration turns Pavilion Bukit Jalil into a warm gathering place for families and friends.
Expect festive decor, traditional performances and interactive activities designed to make every visit feel special.
The celebration was officially launched on Jan 22 in the presence of National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, alongside Pavilion REIT Management Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Philip Ho and Maybank Bhd Head of Cards Md. Gharif Talib.
The event highlighted Pavilion Bukit Jalil’s role as a lifestyle hub where shopping, culture and community come together.
Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd Retail chief executive officer Datuk Joyce Yap said this year’s approach is all about creating something fresh while staying true to tradition.
"This year, we wanted to celebrate Chinese New Year in a fresh and unique way, creating an experience that is immersive, memorable and exciting from the moment visitors arrive.
"From the grand decor to the curated mix of performances and activities, 'Joyful Prosperity Together, Here' is designed to surprise and delight, while still honouring the traditions that families cherish year after year.
"Our goal is to create a festive environment that is lively, engaging and truly captures the joy of celebrating the New Year together," she said.
One of the biggest highlights was "Leap into Luck" by XiaoMa and MaBao, a festive performance that makes Pavilion Bukit Jalil the first mall in Malaysia to feature robotic festive performers.
Inspired by the Year of the Horse, XiaoMa symbolises energy, perseverance and positive beginnings, while MaBao adds warmth and charm. Together, they bring the themes of joy and togetherness to life for visitors of all ages.
The performance takes place on Jan 24 and 31, as well as on Feb 2 and 14.
The heart of the celebration is the Centre Court, which has been transformed into a striking festive space.
Anchoring the celebration is a 16-foot-tall Golden Tree by Gold Art, surrounded by eight six-foot-tall horse installations and a standout 15-foot-tall centrepiece horse.
Families can also enjoy a carousel ride with a minimum spend, while plenty of Instagram-worthy spots invite visitors to capture and share festive moments.
"At Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Chinese New Year is all about coming together through cherished traditions, family gatherings and joyful celebrations. 'Joyful Prosperity, Together, Here' creates a festive space where families, visitors and the surrounding community can share in the warmth and excitement of the New Year," Yap added.
Adding to the excitement is the Horse Ride Experience at Level 3, Piazza, running from Feb 6 to 8.
Suitable for adults and children aged nine and above, the experience includes afternoon feeding sessions and photo opportunities with the horses.
Shoppers who spend RM300 or more in a single receipt can also enjoy complimentary horse rides on a first-come, first-served basis.
Shoppers can also look forward to festive rewards through Gift with Purchase redemptions. Shoppers can enjoy three tiers of festive rewards, including Fortune Ang Pow sets, Prosperity Vatiri glassware and a Maybank-exclusive 1.7L Pyrex bakeware.
Redemptions are available daily throughout the campaign, while stocks last, via the Pavilion Bukit Jalil App.
For those feeling lucky, the Chinese New Year Shop & Win Contest, in collaboration with Apple Vacations, offers Pavilion Privileges members a chance to win an all-inclusive six days, five nights holiday to China.
Members who spend RM500 and above in a single receipt can enter by uploading their receipt through the app.
The festive calendar also features the 2026 The Lion King Championship at Piazza, Level 3.
Highlights include the Asean LED Lion Dance Record Attempt, the National Traditional Lion Dance Championship on Jan 31, the International Acrobatic High Pole Lion Dance Championship on Feb 1 and the 118-Head LED Lion Eye Opening Ceremony.
With performances running from late January to February, including robotic shows, traditional and acrobatic lion dances, music, fashion shows and meet-and-greet sessions, Pavilion Bukit Jalil promises a Chinese New Year celebration that is lively, inclusive and full of festive spirit.
