Key among these is the National Education Plan, a comprehensive effort designed to enhance education quality and prepare the younger generation for an increasingly complex digital landscape.

The council also discussed the enhancement of social welfare programmes to better address cost-of-living challenges.

These include:

  • Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara)
  • Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR)
  • Jualan Rahmah
  • Bantuan Awal Persekolahan (Bap)

“These programmes are seen as capable of being further improved to ensure that cost-of-living issues faced by the public are addressed more effectively,” Fahmi said in a statement on Sunday.

Tengku Zafrul’s appointment to the Political Bureau marks a significant step in his transition within the party.

On May 30 last year, he announced his resignation from Umno and expressed his intention to join PKR.

By Aug 8 2025, he confirmed that his application had been accepted and that he had officially joined the party led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as a member of the Ampang division.

On the issue of integrity, Fahmi reaffirmed the party’s support for ongoing efforts to combat corruption and dismantle cartel groups.

“This support is given to ensure that public funds are not misappropriated to enrich certain groups at the expense of the people,” he added.
