SYDNEY - Four people have died in an apparent murder-suicide incident in Western Australia (WA), Xinhua reported, citing police on Friday.
The WA Police Force said that the bodies of a 50-year-old man, a 49-year-old woman and two boys, aged 14 and 16, were found at a home in the southwest suburbs of the state capital of Perth on Friday morning.
Detective Inspector Jessica Securo from the major crime division told reporters that all four people were believed to be part of the same family unit.
She said that a note was located at the scene and police are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.
Police have not disclosed a cause of death, but Securo said that no weapon was involved and that it does not appear to have been a violent incident.
"The family has no reported family violence matters with police. We do know that both children experienced significant health challenges," she said.
Local media reported that the incident triggered a major police response and that several streets in the local area have been closed to the public. - BERNAMA-XINHUA
