Police open probe into cone-throwing incident at LDP toll plaza

Police also urged the owner of the vehicle involved to come forward to lodge a report to assist investigations, as no report has been received so far.

KUALA LUMPUR - Police are tracking down a car driver who allegedly stopped his vehicle abruptly before throwing a traffic cone at another vehicle and hurling insulting remarks at the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) toll plaza, as shown in a viral video today.

Subang Jaya District Police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said police detected a video post of the incident on Facebook, and a police report was lodged by an officer at 1.37am today.

"The footage shows a man driving a red Perodua Axia believed to have acted in such a manner while traffic was congested at the toll plaza," he said in a statement today.

He also urged the owner of the vehicle involved to come forward to lodge a report to assist investigations, as no report has been received so far.

Following the incident, he said police opened an investigation paper under Section 427 of the Penal Code, Section 48(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
