KUALA LUMPUR – A man was arrested after allegedly committing an indecent act during a Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) seminar at a private university here on Saturday.
Cheras district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud said police received a report regarding the incident.
“The suspect, a man in his mid-20s, was arrested by officers from the Cheras district police headquarters (IPD) in Sri Petaling today,” he said in a statement on Monday.
Rosdi said the motive for the incident is still under investigation.
“The suspect has been remanded for three days, from Monday until Wednesday, to assist investigations under Section 509 of the Penal Code,” he said.
Earlier, several video clips circulated on social media platform Threads showing a man being escorted out of a hall after allegedly behaving indecently during the seminar.
According to the posts, the man was alleged to have removed his trousers and exposed himself to female students attending the event.
