Mydin targets distribution of 50,000 Kotak SARA Rahmah

Elaborating further, Ameer said Mydin’s corporate social responsibility initiative continues through the RM100 Kotak SARA Rahmah, which allows customers to donate essential items to those in need through a buy-and-donate concept.

Mydin managing director Datuk Dr Ameer Ali Mydin said through the campaign, the company is offering affordable prices with various attractive promotions, including baju Melayu and baju kurung starting from as low as RM30.

"This is the second implementation following the positive response previously. For the Ramadan and Syawal edition, the box contents are tailored to the needs of the fasting month and Raya preparations, including basic food items as well as products from local SMEs and small industries," he added.

According to Ameer, Mydin is targeting up to 50,000 boxes to be distributed, depending on public response, whether handed directly to recipients or through collaboration with the Social Welfare Department and elected representatives.

Meanwhile, Mydin has also allocated RM20,000 in cash contributions to support the distribution of food boxes to those in need, in addition to working with 38 suppliers under the Mydin Prihatin initiative to raise welfare funds.

As part of rewards for its customers, Ameer said Mydin is offering various attractive contests, with customers standing a chance to win a Proton e.MAS, free balik kampung travel, a RM1,000 supermarket sweep price, KTMB travel passes and petrol credits, with total prices worth hundreds of thousands of ringgit.

On the issue of price reductions following the strengthening of the ringgit, Ameer said Mydin practises a direct pricing method based on current costs.

"When import costs decrease, selling prices will be adjusted immediately, resulting in some products being sold at lower prices than before. The reductions can be seen directly on supermarket shelves," he said.

The public can obtain more information about the Mega Rahmah Ramadan and Kasih Syawal campaign through Mydin’s official social media platforms or by visiting the nearest branch.

"Mydin provides a comprehensive range of festive necessities at affordable prices. It is close to the hearts of the people," he said.
